Hey its been a pretty crazy week. There was this festival in the town here in Arroyo. It was for the Santisima Virgen de Carmen. The town was full of people...not really celebrating the Virgin Carmen. haha!
So Mayra knows so much about the Gospel now. We believe she is just scared to make the next step to be baptized. We talked about the Holy Ghost and how we can know when we recieved our answer from God. We read a ton of scriptures and made a list of how the Holy Ghost can speak to us. She said she has felt alot of these as she was praying, watching the Restoration movie, and reading the Book of Mormon. She said she feels like it would be better for her to get baptized before she leaves but she still isn't sure yet. We then talked about how Faith isn't a perfect knowlege but is "hope in the things that are true" (Alma 32:21) We shared that we need to walk by faith. Sometimes we need to take the leap of faith and just follow the Lord's council and his example and be baptized in the correct manner. She is going to read and pray everyday specifically if she should be baptized before she leaves.
So Elder Lozano and I were on our way to a member's house and we were crossing this bridge. Then we saw on the other side of the road this guy climbing slowly over the other side. Me and my comp run crossing the street so fast to try to get to him. We get there and pull him over and we asked him what he was doing and he started to cry and said he was about to jump to take his life. I was so glad we got there at the right time. He wants us to go to his house and teach him. He believes we were sent from God at the exact moment. It was a crazy but cool experience.
Thanks for the book mom. Its really cool. You learn of Joseph Smith and his process in his prophetic calling in detail. I've learned so much and it has strengthened my testimony.
Love you all,
