Hola Americanos!
This week went by super super fast with alot of ups and downs.
First off - (this is so funny) We went to our investigators house because it was her birthday. She was mopping her tile floor with way WAY too much soap! She said “C’mon Elders!!” and when she said that she slipped and fell HARD on the floor! I didn’t know how to say anything at all in Spanish that helped so I said, “OH….. FELIZ CUMPLEANOS!!!!!” I felt pretty terrible but I COULD NOT stop laughing!!
We taught a couple of investigators named Marie and Kaleth. In the last lesson we gave them the Book of Mormon. The next lesson they marked the book and found answers to their questions. I was so happy I couldn’t stop smiling. Then on Friday they called and said they had decided that it wasn’t for them. I felt devastated because they were the main reason that I had felt such a positive attitude about the work because I was so excited watching them progress. I had already felt like I loved them so much. Tears came to my eyes because when I taught them the Plan of Salvation I just knew that it was an answer to their prayers. I thought about our Savior and how this must be how he feels when people deny him and not want to follow him. As hard as this was, I will use this to build me up and try to reach more people.
Missionary work is so so hard! Of course I wish this was easier. I cannot wait to find that person that is waiting, just WAITING for our message. And that is another thing I will learn through all of this, is patience.
Here are a few pictures of food of course, and some fun I have been having with the people in my district. Nerf gun wars are awesome. The sunsets in Mexico are pretty amazing.
