Mom and Dad-
This week was disappointing but I need to have a positive attitude. We worked so hard with the members but a lot of our investigators told us that they don't want anything to do with us right now because they are not recieving help or support from their families! Pretty sad! They were really cool people! I guess they would rather have good family relationships than salvation - haha! Anyway- here is a cool story!
I have never seen a woman and her kids so excited to see missionaries and talk about our beliefs! During this time the spirit was so strong that out of nowhere the lady asked if she can recieve a blessing with putting your hands on her head. (we have never taught this before as this was our first visit). I was like how did you know that? She was like I don't know I just felt like I needed to ask you this. We offered it and now we can know from this family that they have trust in the power in the priesthood!
Funny story! We contacted this dude, had to been drunk or high but we asked him for a direction. We were about to leave and he said very secretly, "HEY- Elder Anderson, do you see that tree over there?? Don't tell anyone...." ( At this point I thought it was going to be a marijuana plant so I was so stoked to see my first one - haha) then I asked, "What is it?" He answered, "Lemons but don't tell anyone!!" I said "Why?" He answered, (get ready) - "If you grab a lemon and put womens perfume on it and put it in your pocket you will get good luck! (huh?) I said "I thought we were supposed to have faith in Jesus Christ - not in a lemon." Then he answered, "Well then YOU don't have faith and you will go to Hell. I said, "WELL - GOTTA GO!!" He said, "WAIT- in a quiet vioce again - My friend does this and he sells ice cream. He sold every one of his ice creams this week and the others didn't so you are always welcome to try it out JUST DON'T TELL ANYONE!! Hahahaha!! Crazy!
