Hey family!!
Guayanilla is SWEET!! Yesterday there was a marathon here and we were asked to help out with everything. Tons of people were there and there was a super cool DJ too. Every once in a while I would hear Dr. Dre playing so that was SO cool!! haha
This past week we contacted Johnny. Johnny is this old dude that is not religious AT ALL but he wanted to talk to us. He was very against prayer and everything but we kept working with him. He understood the restoration but doesn't like prayer....Whaaat? We committed him to pray before bed and he said he would try. The next day we came back and he is BEGGING to say the opening prayer before the lesson. I was so shocked!! He changed just overnight from not wanting to pray at all to wanting to pray. He is now reading the Book of Mormon and I hope he keeps progressing. He doesn't want to be baptized but I believe over time as he keeps getting more comfortable with prayer he will be prepared.
I know that dedication and true intent can really change you. I have seen it in the people here. When they really dig deep in the gospel and try to live it they are more happy and they look like a totally different person!
We are finding lots of people when we contact and they have the same questions Joseph Smith had…"Why are there so many churches"…"How do I know which one is true"? These are so perfect because they end up loving the restoration right away because they have an answer to their questions!
We found this one dude named Jose. He ran up to us from the other side of the street saying that he loves us "white preachers" and wants us to come over to teach him. We will meet with him this Saturday so I hope that goes good.
Also this past week we were in this house with a guy named Manny. He turned to me and said…”Hey...do you want to see something cool?” I said yes and he took us to his backyard and he had the biggest weed plant ever!! haha — It was super funny…and shocking. Um ya...we left.
LOVE you all and MISS you more!!
