Hey- transfer calls came and I will be going to Cayey! My comp will be Elder Reyes. I hear there is someone that feeds us lunch everyday and washes our clothes! Yessss!!
Christmas was really good! It was really cool to see you guys and its insane to know that I'll be home in 6 months. It will be cool to see all of my friends and the rest of the family. I hope the parties were good! I love you all and I'll let you all know how Cayey is next week! Elder Cody Anderson Puerto Rico San Juan Mission Mom and Dad!
This week was great! We had alot of things happen this week. My comp and I had to g to the offices with all the new missionaries. We were trained and we learned alot from President! I was talking to a new missionary and he asked me where I was from and I said Brigham City. He said he knew a kid named Mitchell Andersen. HAHA!! I said he was my best friend! His name is Elder Quilter and is from Park City. I guess Susan and his mom are good friends. We kept talking and he loves fly fishing so we talked about that forever. It was a great time and it was great to meet him! We taught the plan of salvation to a mom and her son. It was a great lesson. I always ask the people if they know WHERE did Christ's spirit go while his body laid in the tomb!? They always say... well with God! BUT when I show them 1 Peter 3:19 and 1 Peter 4:6. They are speechless and they look in their own bible to see if it says the same - and it does! HAHA! Its pretty funny! Jesus loves us so much that he went and preached the gospel to the spirits in the spirit world! She said that she has never heard this before with all of her study in the bible and in other churches. Just with us! We finished the lesson and we testified that its the only doctrine that helps us go to the celestial kingdom as a family! We invited them to church and the mom said she couldn't but her son said.. "Well I will just stay home then and I will go to church with the missionaries! BOOM! Pretty dope! I'm excited!! THANK YOU for the packages! I recieved the letters from the Lovelands and the TIE! OH I love that tie! And the photos - thank you for that! and I received your package mom with the sweats that were so so nice and the cowboys shirt! I loved everything! It was so nice!! I'm sorry - I couldn't wait for Christmas to open them up!! I did receive Kyra's package too and it was so awesome!! I'm using that santa hat always!! I don't know why but I am dying for a harmonica! Please find a good one and sent it to me - I want to learn! I love you so so much! I can't wait to see you! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! Elder Carson Anderson Mexico Monterrey West Mission Merry Christmas you filthy animals!
Well Christmas time is here and its a great time talking and testifying to people about Jesus Christ. Most people know of Jesus Christ but as representatives of Jesus Christs we help those people learn even more and why He was born. He was Born to save us and to show us His plan and His gospel. It was a cool week. We talked to a lot of cool people that just seemed really happy to see us. We taught this one dude and we watched the new Christmas video from the church with him and he seemed to be happy about it. We will be seeing him and his family this Saturday with a member and it should be good. This week we will be having the Christmas party at President Bouchers house. So that means good food and chillin' with the missionaries and then we will have a testimony meeting of our experiences sharing the Chrsitmas video to the people here in Puerto Rico. We had a cool ward Christmas party here in Cabo Rojo. They did a talent show and it was pretty funny to see. Well its going to be sweet to see ya this Sunday! I love you lots and read your scriptures!! Elder Cody Anderson Puerto Rico San Juan Mission Mom and Dad!
This week was better! I feel better about managing everything and I'm working harder than ever. I feel like I have been up till 11 almost everyday thinking of the district and my "kid". It has been overwhelming but I'm learning a ton from it! I'm learning that when I'm thinking about other people blessings will come my way! I have felt your prayers during this week and I'm doing better! Cant believe the cowboys lost! Awful! Oh well we will still win the super bowl! Sorry I don't have much to say. I'll write you guys next tuesday. We have an activity next week for christmas. Its a talent show and Elder Harmon and I will be singing "Diddley Wack Mack Mormon Daddy". Look it up! We are the REAL slim shadies!! YES- Elder Pisciotta is my ZL! Its awesome - we love it! LOVE YOU Elder Carson Anderson Mexico Monterrey West Mission Hey this past week was really cool...we had some cool experiences.
We had a cool district meeting talking about baptism and how we can help them keep staying active and then President Boucher came and we had interviews. It was cool to talk to him. He has tons of good ideas that we have been using. After we had an exchange and Elder Durkin was with me and we get along great. He's from Las Vegas. We found an old investigator in the area book with only the name of the barrio and no direction or number - but we wanted to find her! So we went there and just contacted with the Christmas card and asking the people if they knew who this lady was. We found a few families just by doing that. We ended up finding her and it was actually a house I contacted a week before with Elder Herrera but only the dad was there. We get to talk to the lady and she invited us in and we taught her and also to her sister. I think it was a successful lesson because the sister named L doesn't have very much faith in God or Jesus Christ and towards the end we were helping her to see that she has had faith. I believe it was successful because we listened to her and all of her points and views and why she feels like she has no faith - and then we used those points and views to help her realize that she really actually does. What I can see is that people say they don't believe in God because of all of the churches stealing money from people and so they see that and believe that God wouldn't be involved in this so they don't go to Church. But that is why the restored Gospel is soo important. It brings hope and knowlege and a more understanding of God and his plan for us. We also found this other lady outside her house and we gave her a card. She was really cool and my gosh very BEAUTIFUL! Haha!! She said we can come back tomorrow so lets hope it all goes good. I think she liked how families can be together forever. ok well - I love you! See ya in a few. Elder Cody Anderson Puerto Rico San Juan Mission Mom and Dad
This week was honestly CRAZY! First off I'm District Leader and Training AND in a brand new area! We get to the area and THERE IS NO MAP! The windows in our apartment are broken. There are no HEATERS or HOT water. Soooo ya- It's been SUPER stressfull! I'm pretty overwhelmed and I'm not the same person when I'm stressed. We live 1 hour and 30 min from the stake center. I have NO TIME for myself. All of it is for my district and my trainee. My new companion is Elder Camargo. He is from Barranquilla Colombia! He is a great missionary and is ready to work. He is actually learning the area more than me. He is just READY! Super prepared. I just think he needs to be more humble and willing to take suggestions. This week we had stake conference. I was asked to share my testimony in front of everyone. I shared the testimony that I have about the Book of Mormon and how I recieved an answer AND how I know that I have a personal Savior! The area seventy said great things about my testimony then after the ceremony he came up to me and congratulated me and got to know me. THEN he said that I needed to CUT MY HAIR because I need to look more like a missionary HAHAHA! Not only me - but Elder Pisciotta too (Shane's comps son). It was hilarious! We went to the temple today. We were supposed to wake up at 4:00 in the morning to get ready BUT NO! We were at the zone leaders house and one missonary clogged the toilet and we woke up to the floor full of water! I WAS SO MAD! We had to squeegie the poo water out- it was horrible! At 2:00 in the morning and it took us like 2 hours to do it! BUT anyway, the temple was great. There is always a good spirit there! Even though I kept saying while we were cleaning up, "NINGUNO DE NOSOTROS SOMOS LIMPIOS PARA ENTRAR EN EL TEMPLO!" (None of us are clean to go into the temple!) I love you all and I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!! Please pray for me! It has been a rough week and I need all the help I can get! Elder Carson Anderson Mexico Monterrey West Mission Hey so I have just been super pumped about the ward here in Cabo Rojo. We have been working with the Bishopric and getting everyones mind set to missionary work first before anything. I will be speaking in sacrament meeting this week to help them learn how and what maneras they can do to share the Gospel with someone. I really think we will see progress.
So the new Christmas Video has came out and I really like it. I thought it was much better than the Easter one. We have these cards to give out to people and we are trying to invite them to watch the video with us in that moment. We have been having a bit of success this first week doing it so lets hope we keep seeing success. In a few weeks we have this Christmas Party with Pres. Bouch and it should be good because last years was cool. Especially Hermana Bouchers FOOD!! Honestly John Chapter 24 is fire! If you really want to know a way to recognize the Savior read that chapter and see how these people recognized the Savior. A really cool story that has helped me. Before zone conference last week before the meeting my companion started to cut my hair but screwed it up. HAHA!! So after the meeting he convinced me to let him finish so I let my comp cut my hair 2 days ago and it looks BAD! I hate mission hair. I can't wait until Tami, someone that's good, can cut my hair again. For P-day we are just cleaning the house and we will go shopping. But later we are going to go to this mexican restaurant called Pika Pika which is really good. Puertoricans make this type of food called tostones that are awesome!! I learned how to do it and I'm pretty good at it. I'm also learning how to make some bomb tacos! ok Love you! Elder Cody Anderson Puerto Rico San Juan Mission |
